RULES & REGULATIONS
Finkelstein said:
The Watchtower Publishing house was founded by amateur bible theologians who were more endeavored to sell and promote their literature than anything else. The Ministry School was the worst.Listening to demonstrations on how to place books and magazines week after week became unbearable. It was no better than an Amway,Mary Kay Cosmetics and Avon sales meeting.I figured that the WTBTS were just a literature corporation when they promoted the 180 page books that were dated and collecting dust in a warehouse.

Put aside all the stupid rules, beliefs, doctrines and practices of the Jehovah's Witnesses. This is one of the main reasons why I stopped attending all meetings! BOREDOM
monotone speakers
awful song book with horrible singing
little kids answering - while everyone thought how cute that was I was cringing
little boys around 10 years old giving a talk while sisters were made to pretend they were in a conversation or study
Watchtower Study- read paragraph and repeat answer like a good little parrot
Public talks-how many times were these talks done
prayers thanking the faithful and discreet slave
ministry school demonstrations where every householder accepts literature or bible study
sending our love to other congregations with applause
coming back from a 4 day assembly and 3 days later having a 45 minute talk on what we just listened to in sweltering heat outside in a stadium in the middle of July

What was your ''the last straw that broke the camels back'' moment
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthere is a limit to how much straw (long yellow grass) a camel can carry on its back.
if you keep putting more straw on top, it will finally break the camel's back.
when you are at the last straw you are finally angry and will not take any more.. my moment (to stop attending all watchtower meetings) was after the harsh treatment from the elders and fellow congregation members of my second cousin who was disfellowhipped as a teenager.

One final straw after another!
A big straw was the illustration of the organisations structure - you know? GB at the top in deluxe leather boardroom chairs....No Jesus (surely you'd expect at least a nod to him in the illustration - aren't they Christian?) it got me on an emotional level - it felt like they were absolutely mocking us. -

You stated: My last straw with him was when he sent me 20 days of sermons and Bible verses instead of directly answering all of my questions regarding what had been going on between us for 5 years. Can you elaborate? Was he bullying you, sexually harassing or was there a romance that needed to end?

My moment (to stop attending all Watchtower meetings) was after the harsh treatment from the Elders and fellow congregation members of my second cousin who was disfellowhipped as a teenager. I wrote two topics on this site years ago about his cruel treatment and how it really bothered me to no end. That was the moment ''that broke the camel's back'' for me.I haven't been to any meetings since then.
My cousin passed away last week from cancer at the age of 49. The cancer spread so fast it took our family by surpise. We figured she had a couple of years instead of months. She left 4 children(3 were baptised and 1 was disfellowshipped a couple of years ago).
Dealing with the death of their mother was bad enough but the conduct of the congregation Elders made it worse. The disfellowshipped child had to:
* leave the house when his mother died because Witness relatives were coming over to the house to visit the family.
* had to stay on the side of the funeral room at the wake by himself while the rest of the family sat in the front chairs.
* Elders refused to greet him in the line. They walked right past him.
*He was told not to attend the luncheon after the funeral. He left alone and went home because some members would not attend the lunch if he was there.

“They argued that they deserved deference as a religious organization, and they got that deference from the city.

"And Your Little Dog Too...." WTS not content with taking kids' ice cream money, now they want them to give up their puppy dogs too.
by sir82 indon't know if anyone else caught this subtle but malicious photo from the 12/13/15 wt study article.. not sure how to post pictures here, but the photo is on the website's copy of the article, just below paragraph 12:.

RULES & REGULATIONS
The whole objective of this photo is to show how the family left all the comforts of home to a place where ''the need is greater."
What I see is the mom,dad and daughter all happy eyeing at a map of the family's new destination. The boy is looking away and holding and petting the dog.Why isn't he looking at the map and excited as the rest of the family? Why isn't the dog in any other picture with the family? They could of included the dog in another picture but the ''writers'' wanted to show that the family left everything, even the dog for this ''greater need'' bullshit!
